What we’re looking for
We are looking for a Group Sales Manager to generate revenue and achieve overall sales goals through group bookings/sales for Bahama Bay Resort and Caribe Cove Condominiums. This individual will also work in the community and partner with various trade organizations to drive business through those avenues.
As a Group Sales Manager, you will be responsible for generating business as it relates to identifying and contacting potential customers, negotiating and booking new or repeat business. Requirements of the position include: a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the hospitality sales professions, effective communication skills, and the ability to negotiate and secure business. This position reports to the Sr. General Manager and is an on-site role.
Compensation:
- $55000 - $60000 Base Salary
- Quarterly Bonus Plan based on amount of revenue generated

- Maintain up-to-date contact and account information.
- Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
- Develop networking opportunities through active participation in community and professional associations, activities and events.
- Proactive personality and work style
- Computer proficiency in GSuite and Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
What you’ll do
- Meet with clients and key destination management sales personnel to foster relationships
- Develop new group business for Bahama Bay Resort and Caribe Cove
- Maintain sales of existing groups
- Meet or exceed quarterly sales goals
- Develop working relationships with key sales personnel at the local Destination Management Offices
- Check Availability for new requests via Admin.
- Create Proposal's for all potential leads
- Meet and greet onsite clients and groups
- Prepare contracts
- Assist in the preparation of required reports in a timely manner.
- Initiate and follow up on leads
- Attend all weekly operations meetings including daily pre-shift meeting, and weekly operations meeting
- Conduct all site tours and communicate with the cottage & hotel team
- Follow up with all groups after departure, with a Thank you letter.
- Partner with group/catering department to identify potential room block leads
- Prepare proposals and contracts
- Solicit, negotiate and book new & repeated groups, by using social media, outside calls and telemarketing.
- Define company brand through events
- Work closely with Revenue Management to adjust selling prices based on demand, competition, and current promotions
Physical requirements
- Must be able to successfully lead any site visits
- Flexible hours including working occasional weekends
Fundamental Requirements
- Pro-actively solicit accounts within assigned market
- Able to travel & attend parties, trade shows, sales meetings and business meetings
- Ensure staff is adequately prepared and informed for arriving groups
- Experience with Wholesalers, family reunions, religious and sports group sales.
- Must be a self-starter and have the ability to self-teach
- Must have the ability to work independently and communicate new processes and keep everyone informed and updated
- Bilingual A plus!
The skills you’ll need
- Minimum of 2 years successful experience in Group Sales or equivalent sales experience
- Experience in local market(s) preferred
